Congratulations to the winner of the Riding for the Disabled Raffle
Congratulations to Angela Herman of Pakenham, who has won a riding place in a four day Spirit of Horse clinic - the clinic based on the book ”Bobby’s Diaries - Straight from the Horse’s Mouth to You”.
I asked Angela what she wanted from the clinic. Here’s the reply.
As you may very well know Copper is the Standard Bred mare which Sue McKibbin originally bought to be trained as an RDA horse. Sue had asked me earlier this year to come and work with Copper and help train her for use at RDA but we were to find out that she is unable to be used for our RDA riders as she has a sore back, shoulders and hindquarters due to people continuously riding her while she is sore.
This little lady is the reason why I bought several tickets to try and win a place at one of your clinics. I have been doing ground work with Copper four days a week since early this year, trying to help her build strength in her back, shoulders and hindquarters, it took me two good months atleast just to get Copper to trust me enough so she would relax and not walk around with her nostrils permanently screwed up, squealing and stomping her hind legs whenever I asked her to do something she didn’t want to do.
I no longer have these problems with her, she sees my car coming and greets me at the gate, she is a beautiful natured horse who is an absolute pleasure to work with, her eyes are looking much softer nowadays and she loves to get lots of cuddles and treats after being worked too.
I am wanting to do one of your clinics to make the bond of trust that Copper and I now share much bigger and stronger. This is one little lady I will never let go, she has suffered enough at the hands of other people.
Copper at the moment is unfortunately unable to have a saddle on her back until October on advice from her craniosacral therapist, but I will be starting to ride her with a bareback pad just using a halter and lead rope on Monday to help work her muscles.
I would love to do your clinic in December if that sits ok with you.

Angela is already sooo… much on the right wave length. I know that she’s going to speed up their progress together phenomenally at the Spirit of Horse clinic. She ’s done exactly the right thing working so hard to get a happy look on her horse’s face, but it’s never going to take that long again!
Follow the approach and philosophy in the book “Bobby’s Diaires - Straight from the Horse’s Mouth to You” and you could improve your relationship with your horse in the first day. Even if it’s already a nice relationship, you can take it to a stunning soul connection.
