One day communication and connection courses

What is it that is so special about the horse-human partnership/s that you most admire?  What is it that you Just Say YES! to?

This connection and communication course will give you and your horse a whopping boost in the things that count most for you and your horse in your own horse-human partnership.

You already know how to read your horse, you already have a connection and you already communicate together.

For most of you reading this though, the communication and the connection are in your sub-conscious mind where you only use it sometimes.  We help you bring the communication and connection to your conscious mind – where you can use it all the time.

When you learn how to use that connection and communication consciously and deliberately, you can get to wherever it is that you want to be with your horse – oh so much more easily.

In this short course, we cover the physical ways that your horse communicates – the body language that you can see with your eyes.  Then we cover the mental and emotional ways that your horse communicates with you that is such an eye opener.

It doesn’t matter what you do with a horse or how you ride, to find this connection and communication useful.   You might just want to be a confident rider with a confident horse.  You might ride English, western or natural or pony club.  You might be an advanced rider or an absolute beginner.

This communication and connection happens before you even put a halter on.  Bring your horse or use one of ours.  The first day is here at Tanjil South, Saturday 27th March.  Cost $130.   Each person bring something for the group to share for a convivial lunch together.

Ring me on 03 5160 1481 or email jenny@bookswithspirit. com (take out the space when you email me!) for bookings or more information.

Unique Bowen muscle therapy course for horses

I’ve been doing alternative therapies for 14 years now and I have more than 15 different healing modalities that I use in my healing work, yet I still marvel at the power of Bowen muscle therapy.

The very gentle and non invasive Bowen ‘moves’ put a vibration in the muscle that releases muscle spasm and resets the brain to muscle connection for optimum muscle operation.  Bowen is an excellent modality for the clearing away of muscular-skeletal problems in horses.

In this Bowen course, I’ve added the precision of the pendulum to prioritise the Bowen ‘moves’, which makes the original excellent Bowen work seriously more powerful.  I’ve also added horse communication as I consider it an essential healing tool for anybody who is working with horses.  The combination gives you a healing course guaranteed to knock your socks off.

To see a horse with a simple and common condition like a sore back get such quick and easy relief is such a buzz.

I also have many, many stories of amazing healing that has taken place with Bowen muscle therapy, some of them bordering on the miraculous – long term lamenesses gone, muscles moving freely, muscle spasms released, bones sliding back into place, colic turned off like throwing a light switch, a dog who had been paraplegic for 3 months walking again.  But the best story that I have about the power of this healing modality is about one of my students.

Click here to read that story and other details about courses learning Bowen muscle therapy for horses.

We have two 3 day Bowen courses coming up – one here at Tanjil South in Victoria, Australia from Saturday 14th to Monday 16th October and another in New Zealand at Wainuiomata 28th, 29th and 30th Novmember 2009

Excellent course on regenerating native pasture with horses

We have been told that horses are bad for the Australian environment – to the extent that riding horses is forbidden in many parks in Australia.

Of course, there’s no doubt that hard footed animals are responsible for a large part of the degradation of the land here in Australia.

Well, the good news is, that horses and cattle can also play a significant part in saving the environment.  Well-managed native pasture sequesters more carbon than trees do.  And sequestering carbon is what governments to environmentalists are trying to do at the moment.

…Graeme Hand, agricultural scientist and CEO of STIPA, the native grass company, is going to spend a day telling us how we can regenerate native pasture using horses to do it…

This one day course is taking place here at Tanjil South on the 9th October.  Graeme has very generously given us the day at a fixed rate plus $20 each for the notes, which will mean that the cost of the day, divided up amongst ourselves will come in under $100 each..  The more people that come, the less the cost.

I’ve had a taste of what Graeme has to offer us and I’m very excited to be learning more.  He’s a great speaker, interesting and had me on the edge of my seat making sure that I didn’t miss a thing.  Tell every horse person you know about this one!

Phone me, Jenny on 03 5160 1481 to book.  Bring something for lunch to share.

A 3 day riding camp at Jane McLaughlin’s lovely property at Tonimbuk

A three day riding camp at Jane McLaughlin’s lovely Tonimbuk property  is tentatively scheduled for  Monday 29th June to Wenesday 1st July.

Crisp, mild, sunny winter weather is normal at this time of the year – frosty nights and sunny days.  Confidence for both horse and rider, softness, co-operation, beautiful relationship, safety and fun are commonly used words, because it’s what we all want from our horses.

This is predominantly a riding clinic for those who have already done a clinic with us – but because everyone works at their own pace, someone new can join in happily.

This is a great opportunity for non riders to see where this beautiful work can go in the saddle – and it will blow your socks off how great a transformation is possible.

There’s plenty of room to sleep in the warm inside at Jane’s.    $360 for three full days.

Phone Jane on 0408 945711  for more information, confirmation of the dates and bookings.  (I am in New Zealand as this clinic is being organised, but am still contactable.)

New Zealand – Zen riding clinic near Wainuiomata

I’m proud to announce the very first Zen riding clinic, being organised at an indoor arena near Wainuiomata in New Zealand.

At the beginning of the clinic, I’ll ask you to tell me “what do you think, in your riding with your horse, will bring great joy to you and your horse together?”

What kind of picture of you and your horse do you get in your mind when I ask that question? Is it of you both dancing together in piaffe? Is it a picture of harmony as you both move together in complete togetherness of mind? Is it learning how to spin or slide stop? Is it flying over a jump joyfully? Is it on the ground learning a Spanish walk, or piaffe in hand? Is it liberty work where your horse plays with complete freedom and joy? Is it being able to get on with ocnfidence and joyfulness?

When you’ve decided what you are looking for, then the idea of this clinic is to connect you with your horse and start laying in the ingredients that are necessary for that goal. Everyone works at their own pace on their own goals, accessing all my knowledge and experience and learning how to use the Zen Connection approach to travel towards your goal.

Email Cheryl McCullagh at ponyblue_1@hotmail.com
Or ring her on 0274 448 656 There’s only two places left at the time of writing.

Bowen muscle therapy with Horses workshop November 2009

When I’m explaining to people about Bowen muscle therapy, I often describe it as the best muscular-skeletal work in the world.

  • It relieves muscle spasm, bringing muscles, tendons and ligaments into balance.
  • It balances the muscles in such a powerful way that the muscles themselves pull the bones back into place.
  • It dumps excess lactic acid from performance horses (although please always warm them down properly as well!)
  • It has a wonderful positive effect on the underlying organs of the horse, such as lungs, stomach, kidneys, liver, intestines.
  • It is very gentle, very non-invasive and very relaxing for the horse.
  • It can relieve the pain of colic almost instantly.
  • It can increase the lung capacity of a horse significantly.
  • It is a beneficial addition to a program to eliminate the problem of a horse who is tying up.
  • On many, many occasions I have seen a horse’s stride improve up to 8 inches of extra length with every step.
  • The vibratory nature of the Bowen move promotes healing on many levels, whether for injury, illness or simply for the best performance possible.
  • And it increases your horse’s enjoyment of life.

And when you use the pendulum to decide which Bowen move is going to be most effective and in what order to do them in – and then combine that with learning how to hear horses and develop your overall skills as a “healer”, then you have a very powerful method of healing.

So, that’s what this course in November teaches.  3 days of learning how to do the Bowen muscle therapy “moves”, learning how to use a pendulum, experiencing  how you hear horses, and learning how to combine all of that to be the best “healer” for your horse that you can be.

Click here and scroll down to the November dates for more information about the course at Tanjil South in Victoria.

Taking the Zen Connection with Horses clinic to the world with tele-conferencing.

Da daaaa!  For a person who has not been “into” technological change in the past, I am sure getting into it now!

In order to take Zen Connection with Horses as a deep and fulfilling experience to as many people around the world as possible, I have decided to take groups of people through a clinic with me by weekly telephone conferencing.

  • This brings the incredible emotional support of the group experience to the participants,
  • This takes my personal knowledge all over the world at the dial of the telephone,
  • It makes the financial cost of that knowledge extremely accessible.

Click here to see how it will work.

Learn Bowen muscle therapy for horses

Bowen muscle therapy is the most powerful muscle therapy that I’ve come across anywhere in the world and I am pretty well travelled in alternative medicine circles!  It brings the horses body back into balance when muscle damage is the cause, releases stress and tension from the body, it dumps lactic acid, aids in recovery from athletic performance, has a positive and healing effect on the underlying organs and is an all round brilliant healing modality.

I’ve just blocked out a three day clinic to teach people how to do Bowen muscle therapy for horses, using a pendulum to figure out where to do the most effective “moves” on the horse.  The dates are Saturday 28th February to Monday 2nd March, 2009, the venue is our farm at Tanjil South.  The cost is $360 for the three full days, including charts and course notes.

The same Bowen moves are effective on donkeys and mules as well.

For those who haven’t used a pendulum before, don’t panic, getting competent with the pendulum is part of the course.

Part of this course (essential to any working with horses, I believe) is some simple work on the mind connection with animals in general and horses in particular, so that the participants have some basic communication skills with the horses they are working on.

Ring me on 03 5160 1481 – places are limited and bookings are essential or email jenny@bookswithspirit.com
