Horses are powerful beings

It appears that I am to come out of the closet even further than I already have…  and I thought that I had come pretty far out of the closet with my books “Bobby’s Diaries, Straight From the Horse’s Mouth to You” and then even further with “Zen Connection with Horses”.

We have a wonderful worldwide movement gaining ground, where the mental, emotional and physical well being of the horse is being promoted and abuse of horses in all kinds of ways is being changed.  The changes range from dramatic neglect and torturous practices to practices that were considered normal, but are now no longer acceptable to thinking horse people.

There’s a whole bunch of people out there almost simultaneously developing beautiful ways of being with horses.  It is a cascading effect of wonderful things happening in the horse world.

It makes the contrast of the shocking abuse stories that we see, even more shocking.

So here’s a thought from me about how we (you reading this article and me writing it) how we ordinary people can help these horses change their destiny.

Conflict and how we deal with our horses

Have any of you ever thought about the way that we deal with conflict with people having some similarity to the way in which we deal with conflict with our horses?  That is, how we deal with our horse when he or she says “no” or “I don’t want to” or “I’m scared and I can’t” or “I’m confused”?

Taking the Zen Connection with Horses clinic to the world with tele-conferencing.

Da daaaa!  For a person who has not been “into” technological change in the past, I am sure getting into it now!

In order to take Zen Connection with Horses as a deep and fulfilling experience to as many people around the world as possible, I have decided to take groups of people through a clinic with me by weekly telephone conferencing.

  • This brings the incredible emotional support of the group experience to the participants,
  • This takes my personal knowledge all over the world at the dial of the telephone,
  • It makes the financial cost of that knowledge extremely accessible.

We’re working towards a bridleless piaffe

I have my horse working with me as a willing co-operative partner who is teaching ME how to get the results of the gifted rider – when no way am I anything of the kind!

Click here to find out how Bobby is teaching me to have fun and reach for the advanced dressage movement of piaffe with no bridle on, with nothing at all on his head!

Is it even achievable?  Is it one of those achievments that takes a lifetime?  I don’t know - but I’m sure going to have fun trying!

Dangerous biter turned around in one day

Kayla pic 1Galiano had torn the shirt right off her fathers back.

Kayla changed that in the first day of a Spirit of Horse clinic. This is the clinic that we run based on the book Bobby’s Diaries – Straight from the Horse’s Mouth to You.

You can change your “biter” too, with Bobby’s Diaries.

Quarterhorse happy and relaxed

Kerry and ParisThis gorgeous big quarterhorse mare had a pretty serious reputation when she came into one of our clinics while we were still writing Bobby’s Diaries – and it certainly wasn’t for being nice! Her very competent rider was at her wits end. This photo of her now happy and relaxed owner riding on a long, loose rein in a large paddock, with the mare in the start of self carriage and now cooperative, says it all.

The method she used to change that unhappy pattern is in Bobby’s Diaries.

How would you like a relationship like this in just days?

Random laying down Holly bought Random 3 days before this clinic. How would you like a relationship like this, that fast?

It’s always so rewarding to see a horse and rider like this – it still brings a lump to my throat.

How you can develop a relationship like this with your horse in just days, is in Bobby’s Diaries.

This nice little warmblood came into a clinic bucking & broncing

andrea-warmblood-in.jpgHis owner is a very competent three star eventer. She said, “I brought him to the clinic because the ways I would normally handle a horse that bucked were not working and I just knew they were never going to work with this horse.”

This photo was taken on day four in the early days of our Spirit of Horse clinics. This is the clinic we run, based on Bobby’s Diaries. As you can see, this little horse’s stride is soft and rhythmic, he’s willing and co-operative - he’s in self carriage on a long, loose rein, at the trot.  This is the foundation of Bobby’s Way.

Within weeks, he was being ridden safely by a child.  The process for achieving this kind of transformation and so fast, is in Bobby’s Diaries.
